How To Check Tire Pressure and Add Air To Tires Metairie La

Almost all car owners know that they have to monitor their tire air pressure, and add or remove air from time to time, but how do you do this?

• Find out your car’s ideal air pressure. This will be located in your owner’s manual, or sometimes printed on the sidewall of the tire (it’s usually about 35 psi)
• Get a tire pressure gauge and check the current pressure. Whether it’s a digital or analog gauge, make sure you position it onto the valve until no air is escaping.
• Add or remove air as necessary. If you need to add air, you will need an electric air compressor, usually at a gas station or you can buy a portable one for a nominal price. If you need to remove air, press the small button on the inside of the air valve on the tire.
• Double-check your air pressure. It’s also important to put the caps back on the valve stems when finished.
